Spring 2025: Launching Our First Creative Environmental Workshop Tour
This spring, we kick off the first of what we hope will be many workshops traveling across the UK, bringing hands-on creativity and environmental education to different communities. Our journey begins at a traveler site in Sussex, where we’ll run interactive sessions tailored for both younger and older children, inspiring them to connect with nature and sustainability in a fun, meaningful way.
Through engaging activities, they’ll explore the vital role of healthy soil and pollinating insects. Younger children will embark on beachcombing adventures, collecting washed-up materials while observing the flowers and insects around them. Meanwhile, older teens will take trips to scrapyards, gathering discarded metal and learning metalwork skills such as welding and fabrication.
Over five immersive days, participants will transform their findings into a collaborative sculpture—part art, part planter—designed to support local pollinators. The final piece, likely a bee or butterfly, will remain on-site as both a striking artwork and a home for flowers and herbs, fostering a lasting connection between the community and the environment.
